THE KIWIS ARE COMING
24 February 2010
Anyone who was at the Track World Cup in November will have witnessed a very impressive team from New Zealand take it up the world and win four gold medals.
Leading the charge for the Kiwis was an aggressive 19-year-old Tom Scully who won both the scratch race and the madison.
He then took on the best of Australian road cycling at the Jayco Bay Cycling Classic and won the stage around the tight Richie Blvd circuit relegating non-other than Jack Bobridge to second place.
Yes, Scully has got the goods and he’ll be back for more at Revolution 6. Joining him will be the 2008 omnium world champion Hayden Godfrey plus Shane Archbold and Myron Simpson.
Simpson teamed up with Scully to take the bronze medal in the madison at the recent Beijing round of the track world cup and is familiar with DISC after collecting a bronze in the Australian Madison Championship.
Archbold is a multiple New Zealand champion but in Australia so far is best known for having a world class mullet and never taking a backward step.
This group of Kiwis is ready to take on anyone in the world but they appear to love nothing more than serving it up to the Aussies.
